RideOnTrack Supports Thomas More Student Projects and Co-Innovation

We’ve recently concluded a six-month project with students from Thomas More University of Applied Sciences, where groups focusing on Application Development, Cybersecurity, and Artificial Intelligence have worked on developing new features for RideOnTrack‘s CodiTrack product. This IoT Edge platform is used on commercial passenger trains to provide Condition-based maintenance input for Railway Infrastructure Managers.

The students were tasked with creating an end-to-end product that includes a database design and strategy, transmission capabilities, artificial intelligence models, and a customer-facing web interface for applications such as railway asset detection and mapping, as well as detecting plant overgrowth on railway lines.

Their work will play a crucial role in the ongoing development of the CodiTrack platform. After presenting their final designs and results at the RideOnTrack offices this week, we are impressed by their innovative approaches and practical solutions.

A big thank you goes out to Stef Van Wolputte from Thomas More University of Applied Sciences for organizing these projects and to Sander Denorme and Ferre Snyers from RideOnTrack for their guidance and support to the students. This collaboration not only benefits our product development but also provides valuable real-world experience for the students.

More information about CodiTrack will be coming soon to RideOnTrack’s website.
